- Oct 257:30 PMonStage Series - Lost LearLost Lear by Dan Colley Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 7:30 p.m. Athey Center, Palmer Auditorium In Dan Colley's "ambitious, visually stimulating production" (Irish Times), Lost Lear follows the story of Joy, a retired actress with dementia, who is reliving her memories of rehearsing King Lear. Taking on the roles of cast and crew, nursing home staff help Joy recreate this memory in a moving and darkly comic remix of Shakespeare's tragedy. When Joy's estranged son arrives, he is cast as Cordelia, and must find a way to speak his piece from within the limited role he's given. With textured storytelling using puppetry, projection and live video effects, Lost Lear is a gripping meditation on theater, artifice and the possibility of communicating across the chasms between us. Presented with support from Culture Ireland. Tickets: $30; Seniors: $27; Students: $15; CC Students with ID: $8 (General Admission) For tickets and information call 860-439-2787 or visit onstage.conncoll.edu (http://onstage.conncoll.edu)
