You will meet your house staff and check-in at tables located right outside the main entrance to your residence hall. Please arrive at your assigned arrival time (Group A or B). Student staff will be available to assist you in moving your things into your room. If you traveled by car, please have the driver move the car to one of our parking lots (North, South or Gravel) to make room for your housemates to arrive and unpack.

Early Arrival Fall Varsity Athletes (Mens & Womens Cross-Country/Track & Field, Women's Field Hockey, Men's & Women's Soccer, Men's Water Polo, Women's Volleyball) have a scheduled practice time during this time period. Your coach will give you the details about your practice locations. We have coordinated your Welcome Weekend schedule so there are no conflicts with required practice times. If you are interested in trying out as a walk-on athlete, you should reach out to the coach of the team for more information (if you have a conflict in your schedule because you decided to try out as a walk-on, please email Dean Morash (emorash@conncoll.edu)

They will hear from President Andrea Chapdelaine and the Student Experience Group Deans and have the opportunity to ask questions during two panel discussions ("Life Outside the Classroom" and "Academic Life at Conn") that follow.

After our welcome, you will head outside and meet your Student Advisers (they will be holding big signs with your FYS number and name, so make sure you remember it!). You will spend a few hours together getting to know your first-year seminar classmates, have time to ask questions and learn more about the Welcome Weekend schedule. Attendance: Required.

As Arrival Day comes to a close, join us for a special Welcome Reception for first-year and transfer students, their families and supporters. Meet campus leaders, connect with other families and celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter over light refreshments.After saying your goodbyes, you will head to meet up with your FYS for dinner in Harris Refectory at a designated time. Your next official event after dinner will start at 7:30 PM.

Your Student Advisers will let you know where to meet so that you can go to Harris in small groups from your FYS tonight. This will keep the lines shorter and your Student Advisers can show you how things work! Connecticut College’s President, the Dean of the College and Vice President for Retention and Success, and Student Government Association President will extend a formal welcome to all new students in Palmer Auditorium. As you enter Palmer Auditorium, you will be welcomed by our upperclass students! Following the formal program, you will take part in your first major Conn campus tradition: Camel Moments, where you will hear from our upperclass students about what make Conn so special to them. Attendance: Required for students. You will be dismissed by residence house/floor to attend your House Meeting immediately following the end of this event.

Each night of Welcome Weekend, we will host social events known as Batch Blasts. These events were funded in perpetuity by an anonymous donor in honor of Esther Batchelder from the Class of 1919. Relax after a long day of moving in with a Moonlight Breakfast in Harris Dining Hall.
